That's an FL transmission,which means you have a Twin Cam "A" engine,you can buy a trick dresser frame from Rolling Thunder,it accepts all the stock H-D parts but you can run a wide tire in the rear.

Yes, the difference is the counter balancer in the engine.

No,because of the counterbalancer,the "B" trans case has a hollow to accept the bulge in the B motor case.

I can disassemble and reassemble a Gold Wing blindfolded.
Listen to it and tell you what exactly what is wrong with it.

But this Harley stuff is like learning a new language to me....

I wish you the best with your project, I don't use the word "luck" because you obviously have the skill. If you learned your way around Gold Wing that well you will have no problem, just a matter of acclimating to the change. Post plenty of pictures when you begin your project. We love pictures around here!
