Default Building a 2003 twincam road glide from parts

I am new to The forums and to the more modern Harley.

I have purchased a 2003 twincam 88B engine trans and primary along with some other assorted parts from a nearly new salvage bike, I also have the frame minus the neck.

I am in need of many parts to complete this bike and dont know where to start looking or which model parts will interchange with the FLT frame.

To start I need a complete swingarm assembly.
I would like to also find a neck section from a 2003 FLT frame.
Wiring harness,
wheels
tank
fenders
fairing complete
bags
oil tank
and many other parts

basicly I have the frame engine trans and primary, ign module, rear axle.

I need everything else

If anyone has any of these parts for sale or trade please contact me.

also where do I start looking for parts..

Thanks
Jim

Welcome to the greatest Harley Forum on the planet!

I suggest the usual suspects to find parts. E Bay, Craigs list, JP Cycle etc. Not sure about finding a neck but I am sure some one will be along to help you.

Welcome twincam. Looks like you're embarking on quite a build. I think out of the almost 20,000 members, someone will be able to direct you.

Hi TC

Ok, I'll ask---- what happended to the neck, did it get cut off or what..?
Are the Neck frame numbers gone.?
I think that frame had a second set of frame numbers, does it.??

What about the paperwork,,,, title, registration, etc etc..?

My reason for asking is this..
The VIN numbers are on the frame, if they have been removed there is No good reason to try to re-build the sickle with that damaged frame cuz the DMV wil make you re-title that frame with New numbers in the year you go to re-register it..
In that case you might consider buying a new frame instead,, the title results will prob be the same but with a new un-damaged frame..

Whatever you decide to do start looking in all the catalogs, be careful of V-Twin though,, I've gotten very poor quality parts from them..

Welcome to the forum. You're probably not going to be able to find a neck for that frame,it would seem to me that since the neck is cut off someone has ordered a replacement frame from H-D with that VIN (Harley requires the neck with the VIN & a good portion of the downtubes to sell a replacement frame) Just a shot in the dark, but since so much is missing,I would guess that the previous owner rebuilt a wreck with an aftermarket engine & trans to go with his new frame.Just so you don't order the wrong parts you need to know that the dressers use the Twin Cam "A" not the TC B which you state you have.Ebay & Craigslist are going to be your best bet for parts, good luck.

This bike was purchased from an insurance company, was a theft recovery.
What was the twincam B used in?

I was thinking today that it would probably be much cheaper just to buy a frame and biuld a chopper or something.

If anyone has parts for sale drop me a line

Jim the Twin Cam "B" is used in Soft Tail Models. Tourers and Dynas have the Twin Cam "A".

The Twin Cam A are rubber mount engines and the TC B's are internally counter balanced to reduce vibration and are a solid mount motor for Softails like Cowboy said.

OK, Im kinda confused,, just remember im brand new to harleys.

The frame that came with this engine has FLT stamped on it, is that not a B motor frame?

all the harley model letters is what is confusing me, FLT, FLTR, FLH. Ect.

Please give me some model names, does the B motor come in the Road King, Night train, ECT?

To me this FLH Frame is a Swing arm frame, and the soft tail has the triangular looking swing arm, is that right or no?

If I wanted to take this B motor and build a fairly simple stock bike, what frame should I get?

Thanks
Jim
