Default Balance factors 88 TC and S&S 106 cci stroker

Hello, planning to hop up the 2004 Twincam B Softail with S&S 106 cci. stroker kit. Does anybody knows about balance factors of 88 Twincam an S&S 106 106. They should be close as possible. Is there any experience with 106 stroker and balancers in Twincam. Are there any problems? Did anybody removed balancers from "Beta" engine casings?

My bike is Softail 2004 TwinCam EFI. I am thinking about installing S&S 106 cci stroker kit with 4,5 inch flywheels. My engine is counter balanced and balancers are obviously matched by H-D to flywheels with some balance factor. I did not find yet what the % is for OEM flywheels. I am just thinking if the new (S&S) flywheels don’t match with balancers, there could be a problem.
Did you removed balancers for performance reasons or was there something else? I read lot of posts about twisted crankcases. Some people even weld the crankshaft. They can be twisted anyway in scenario of emergency blocking rear wheel, not pulling the clutch, left side of crank is suddenly blocked, the right side is then pulled with own inertia plus inertia of balancers pulling the chain on right flywheel. I am interested if the Alpha engines have the same problem of twisted crankshafts, or not

Regards, Ljubo

First off,I recommend welding the flywheels on any performance T.C. engine because of the shifting problem & yes,the Alpha engines are subject to shifting also,I use Revolution Performance out of Plymouth Wi.for this service as they have the jigs & the expertise needed to produce quality work.If you remove the balancers the engine will feel exactly like an Evo Softail,so balance accordingly. My source at the Motor Company tells me the flywheels are balanced exactly the same for both engines.Hope this helps
