Your method for ciphering mpg could use a little finessement. When you gas up, fill to the same level consistently and record the miles travelled and gas used.

KGsteam,I think you're figuring out your mileage the wrong way.When you hit reserve does not necessarily mean that you have used exactly 4 gallons.All tanks are different.Try filling it up to the same level every time,and then see how many gallons you actually put in.You might be surprised at the mileage you're really getting.And like was already said,if you like the way it runs,fug it,those gas stations need to make money too!!
