Default Winter Project Help

Hi Guys,
I am doing my home work for a winter project. I have a few ???. I have a 03softail with an 88b in it. On a 95ci upgrade if you bore out the cylinders do you have enough meat left to keep from having heat problems. If you get cylinders from HD or S&S are they cast to size or just punch out 88's. Can you go over 100ci with out stroking. Thanks for all your help. Have a great Friday!!!

You can get plenty of power with just larger cylinders. Stroking the Harley Twin Cam engines add a lot of heat issues that you can avoid with just bigger bore.

I've never heard of any heat issues with a 95" engine that could be attributed to boring the cylinders. If there is a heat problem it can usually be traced back to a poor tune. There are plenty of 95" motors that have been around for a while with no problems. The largest stock stroked engine size I've seen available for a 88" motor is 98". I have two of them, both in a "B" motor and an "A" motor and haven't had any issues with either one in all types of riding conditions. If you go to a larger inch motor, there's a lot more involved than just boring the stock cylinders.
