Default I'm replacing the map sensor on my 06 fat boy

I need to replace the map sessor What's the best way in to it? Looks like there is one screw that holds a bracket to hold it down. What has to be removed to get to it?

Hopefully someone on here has either done this or knows the best way to do it.
Good luck. I haven't looked into the map sensor yet. If no one answers in a while I'll try to find out something for you.

According to my parts book on the FXDLI, the MAP sensor is located behind the air cleaner on top of the Induction module. I don't see any screws that hold it on. It has a plug from the wiring harness that it connects to. According to my parts manual there is a seal that goes on the tube that plugs into the induction module. It also looks like there is a clip molded into the sensor that slides onto something as it is plugged in. I can't tell from the diagram where the rail that it slides onto is located. Just pay attention to how it disconnects from the induction module and put the new one back the same way.
Hope this helps.
P.S. Look at the part first. It may be that you don't have to remove the air cleaner. I don't know. I didn't go outside and look at my bike.

I did a little Google search and found that you might need to lift the gas tank or, to make it a lot easier, take it completely off to get to the MAP sensor. This was on a year model different than yours so it might not apply. I'll look at my bike tomorrow and see if I can see it or if I think you might have to raise the tank.

Thanks T-Bone. Thats what I was thinking, that takeing the tank off or raising it up to get to the little bugger. I have the Clymer service manual on order, but it won,t be here till the end of the month. Both your advice and your diagnostic code info are greatly apprciated. H

Just had one apart a month ago. The Map sits behind the IAC motor. The bracket that holds the IAC also holds the MAP. I just looked at mine agin throttle cables are also hooked to the bracket.

Thanks Dyna0996, I couldn't tell what was holding the map down. I could feel something on it. Did you remove the tank to get to it? Thanks. Harmony

I was looking a 50mm throttle body that was missing the mounting flanges. Was told the stock ones fit so removed the throttle body to find out they didn't. While it was apart checked out how the intake was laid out for future refernce. It would be lower screw that will give you some trouble. I was looking with the air cleaner and backing plate off you might able to remove without removing intake. Check into a ratching bit driver for the torqs bit. They work very well in small spaces.
