Default Battery Access - Charger Pigtail

Buzz, my '07 v-rod has a plug hanging by the radiator that is used to plug a battery
tender into, I would think the '06 has the same thing, this will keep you from
having to remove the airbox to get directly to the battery for charging.

That plug is an after market ad-on, some dealers install it automatically as a favor to their customers once the bike is sold but it is not a stock item on factory V's. Should be.
Nice to have for trickle chargin'.

I added a pigtail to my battery on the Street Rod to make charging it easier.

The battery is mounted up under the air cleaner cover (looks like a gas tank but isn't) tight up into the frame right behind the steering head.

Access to it wasn't bad. Lift the seat, pop off the air cleaner cover and move a few wires aside. I used a simple phillips head screwdriver and had the whole thing installed and done in 15 minutes. I left the pigtail end out for easy access and charged the battery up over night.

Funny guy. Are you confusing the quality of tech in American Iron with another "Harley authority" on the west coast?

I took the wires off my FLHT for the battery & heated jacket & put them on the V-Rod. If anyone has a suggestion for a stylish type bug screen I appreciate hearing about it. My 2 yr. extended warrenty won't allow me to do any major engine mods.

If I remember the name correctly the HD grand touring one has had some good reviews.

I had to change the one they installed. It wasnt the same as my tenders connection but it was a nice thought.
