What's your thinking on his? As I understand it the stock V-Rod puts some pretty serious power to the ground. And it doesn't take much to add to it with a different exhaust, air cleaner and ignition program.

How much does a Trask turbo cost and what's the increase in power?

Any downside (other than the cost) to a turbo?

Cost is around $5000.00, but at least its a bolt on kit that most can perform themselves. I just like the extra umph a turbo would add.
Plus it just looks very cool, sounds even better. They are very reliable and easy on the motor.

Easy on the motor????

Buzz, depending on the desired boost and other "mods" I've seen V-rods with 170+ to the ground.

Its not that hard on the engine unless you stay in high boost constantly.

If you are one of the guys that wants to get the front wheel off the ground the turbo will definitely get it up on the VROD. I saw it in action and it was sweet. Hard to do with out some assistance. The guys I saw were running right at 200hp after the turbo and some additional help.

If its a daily rider I wouldnt bother. Unless you wanna show off a bit. Turbo would be easier on the motor then Nitrous.

With turbo you have extra stuff attached to yer bike. IMO it looks like crap. Keep it under the hood. However a nitrous bottle looks cool and most of the guts can be hidden.

Vrod and nitrous is the way to go if you keep it tame. Nitrous is also cheaper and can be pulled easier if you unload the bike.

and why have a turbo and not beat the S*&t out of it??????????? LOL!

Lots of pressure, the V's are higher compression as it is, but ya if you're smart about it, the motor can last a very long time.

I know some say why have a turbo if your not going to hammer on it.
I can say the same thing about having a V Rod, I will probably never use all the power it has stock, but I know its there if I wanted too.
I just like the look and sound of the turbo, not to mention the 167 HP available whenever I want.

I certainly won't poo poo a turbo if that's what you want. I mean, it's your scoot. Do what makes you happy. If it is your desire to be able to unleash the wrath of the Almighty on the pavement on command... a turbo on a V-Rod is for you.

My opinion on a turbo (for my riding style) is that it isn't very practical. There is a plethora (of pinatas?) of easier and cheaper ways to get good managable power gains.

John 1:14

It is the duty of nations, as well as of men, to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins and transgressions, in humble sorrow, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon; and to recognize the sublime truth announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations only are blessed whose God is the LORD.
