Default V-Rod in AIM

Just got my new issue in the mail and see that AIM seems to be moving more towards some V-Rod coverage.

Last month it was the Italian beauty (and her bike) on the cover with a story inside.

The nes issue has a guest columnist discussing V-Rods and a feature of his turbocharged V-Rod inside.

The more I read about these V-Rods the more interesting I find them.

Are they the future of Harley-Davidson if the EPA has a vote?

Bagger,
Buzz bought a Street Rod. In his defense, he bought it AFTER he learned a lot more about the V-rods.
The V-rods are interesting and fun if they are the kind of bike you like. My wife and I really enjoy our 06 Night Rod.
As for the EPA thing, I believe the writing has been on the wall for a long time now. We didn't buy ours over any EPA concerns. We got it because it is the right bike for us. All I can say is try one or two out. It's not the right bike for everyone. Thankfully we have choices.
I'm waiting on the V-bagger!! A 1450cc Revo engine will be a beast. If HD can keep the rpms the 1130/1250s are turning, the V-bagger will be a Wing killer.

I believe that the future is watercooled. Just my opinion.

The way I figure it is that I am already water-cooled. Why does my bike have to be?

John 1:14

It is the duty of nations, as well as of men, to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins and transgressions, in humble sorrow, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon; and to recognize the sublime truth announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations only are blessed whose God is the LORD.

As for the guest columnist with the turbo, he owns the number 1130. He must, otherwise he wouldn't have anything against my t-shirt designs just because a couple have the number 1130 on them. (Personally, the UH-1s sell a heck of a lot better and nothing touches Kilroy.) Other than that, he's pretty cool and best wishes to him.

Harley built the V-rod to lure the younger riders of sport bikes into the Harley stable. It looks like a dragster and has higher performance than the air head line of Harley's. The Revolution motor may not necessarily be the whole future of the moco but the future does figure to be liquid cooled. CARB and the EPA are most certainly going to see to that. Sooner or later Harley will have to produce liquid cooled motors to get them past smog laws and restrictions. Personally I tend to believe that they are already working on or have working models of the liquid cooled motors that are undergoing testing so the moco can be ready when the deadline hits. Just MHO.

Sounds reasonable to me. Don't know for sure, but sounds reasonable.

We'll just have to ask Willy G why he came up with the V-rod. I didn't think to ask when he autographed my helmet. Maybe it's because the VR-1000 engine was just sitting around the shop doing nothing and somebody asked "Wouldn't this be cool in a street bike?" I think that's what REALLY happened.

All kidding aside..for NOW anyhow..if I were say 30 years younger, still having the NEED for SPEED,etc, THESE days, I'd probably be "all-over" as in "into" the V-Rods BIG time.

Yeah..and,let's face it..times,ARE changing..EPA-ETC wise...air-cooled/push-rod engines on their way out.."period"..just a matter of time !!!
