A cousin of mine spent some time behind enemy lines in Germany in WWII. A real soft spoken guy...been around him all my life and he never mentioned some of the things he went through 'til recently.
Some of the lighter moments were when they played around with one of their BMW's they abandoned. Also, they had radio controlled miniature tanks with an explosive device aboard as an anti-tank weapon. They had fun playing with them....running them into trees.
Maybe helped him cope with some of the horrendously terrible moments seeing his pals shot, grenaded etc in the trench beside him.

Please join me in this prayer daily.
This is my Granddaughter Sky, age 7. Can't walk, talk, or feed herself but look at that smile. Anyone care to complain about their lot in life? Not me!
