Default V-Rod Home Coming

I am looking for some official information about a V-Rod homecoming that supposed to take place in September some time.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Ideally I'm looking for the organizers.

Joe,

The V-Rod Homecoming is a rally organized by Max Millender. He's written for your Magazine, so I'm sure you already have his contact info. There is an entire section dedicated to it at 1130cc.com. Link Here. It's also commonly referred to as the Kansas City Rally.

Default Thanks

Hey RJ,

Thanks for the reply. I couldn't find anything on 1130cc.com but then again I'm familiar or a member of that forum.

What I will do I E-mail Max directly. Thanks for the lead.

Cheers

Check-in/Registration down at the Party Barn. More hanging out, meeting up with old friends, meeting new friends and putting faces to names of all the people you’ve been communicating with. Take in local fare, rides or just hang out waiting for others to arrive.

Thursday
Home coming festivities at the Harley Davidson Plant. Once again, Harley Davidson is going all out for us this year and this is an excellent opportunity to see the birthplace of your V-Rod. When we arrive at the plant, we will line up our bikes along the circle drive in front of the visitors center. If you have not experienced this, it is truly a spectacular sight to see. V-Rod models of all colors and levels of customization lined up with the plant and American flag as the back drop. Amazing!! Customized tours have been created for us and will cover the V-Rod production line within the plant. Tour sizes are limited to 15 people and will begin at 8:30 AM. Subsequent tours will begin every 15 minutes and the last tour will begin at 10:30 AM. Coffee and donuts will be available while you wait for your assigned tour to begin. When the tours are complete, lunch will be provided on the front lawn followed by a “Town Hall” style meeting with members of the VR platform team that will be coming in from Milwaukee. This is an incredible opportunity get information, ask questions and share your concerns on the V-Rod product platform. The plant has also produced some incredible give-away items that some lucky members will take home. At some point before we leave, we will all line up with our bikes for the plant photo. This has steadily grown from around 40 V-Rods the first year to well over 100 last year and this year has the makings to be the biggest yet.

Track Night at Kansas City International Raceway
This event is still being finalized but has the promise of being as fun as its always been. We will have the track to ourselves and gates will open at 5:30 with racing from 6:00 to 10:00 PM. This year will not have the elimination ladder and competition of last year and the focus will be test and tune and grudge matches. This is a perfect opportunity to be able to put your bike through its paces in a controlled environment. You can run as much as you want and you will not be eliminated! It all for fun! Just want to know what you can do on your bike? no problem. Just want to bang a few gears without having to worry about flashing lights and sirens? This is your chance! Just want to line up against another member you’ve been talking smack to throughout the year? This is the time to let your machine do the talking and put them in their place! Awards will be given in 4 categories and announced during Saturday’s closing ceremonies. The categories are:

Quickest Stock
Quickest Big Bore
Quickest Power Adder (turbo, Super Charger, NOS)
Best Reaction Time

Winners will be determined by time slips so make sure you hang on to them so your times are accounted for. You can submit your time slips during the bike show on Friday.

Friday

Breakfast A full breakfast will be served at the clubhouse from 8:00 to 10:00 AM. The clubhouse is located down inside the park near the tent sites and showers. The menu will consist of Banana Nut Stuffed French Toast, Eggs, Sausage, Biscuits, Fruit, Juice and Coffee.

Members Bike Show The bike show will be held on Friday in the parking area across from the store and in front of the pavilion. Burgers and dogs will be grilled and served during the bike show.
This is an excellent opportunity to see the amazing creativity of our members, get a variety of customizing ideas and ask members their opinions on the modifications they’ve made. If this doesn’t provide inspiration or get your creative juices flowing, let someone know so we can check your pulse and call the paramedics!!

All members will park their bikes in this area and the event will begin at 10:00 AM and last bike must be in by Noon. Members will pull in and be directed to park in the area designated for their bike model. Once the member parks their bike, they will be given a bike tag. The member will complete the tag and attach it to their bike. All members will be given ballots and asked to take a tour of each class and pick their favorite bikes. The deadline for turning in completed ballots will be 1:00 PM.
Classes for the show are as follows:

A & A/W
B
D
DX
R
SE
X
Peoples Choice award
Rat Rod Award

The “peoples choice” category is to be used for the member’s top choice among all of the bikes entered in the show.

Winners of each class will be announced and trophies handed out during the closing ceremonies Saturday evening.

Saturday
5th Annual Dyno Shootout at Gails Harley Davidson
This year hopes to be as exciting as last year with a variety of pipe combinations in the stock classes as well as bike classes for those that just feel that fast is just never fast enough!

Classes for the shootout are:

1130 (Stock and bikes with pipes, intake changes and fuel enrichment device)
1250 (Stock and bikes with pipes, intake changes and fuel enrichment device)
NOS Bikes
Forced induction (Turbos and Superchargers)
Big Bore (Anything larger than 1250cc)
Unlimited (Pure Insanity! Any combination of big bore, NOS and forced induction)

Dyno runs will begin at Gail's Harley Davidson at 9:30 AM and will continue until everyone has had a chance to run. Each run will be for horsepower only to eliminate the time involved to hook up to the coil pack and insert the exhaust sample pipe on each bike. The end result is a printout of horsepower verses drum speed (MPH). A leader board of the top performers in each class will be on hand in the staging area and will be updated as members move through. Gail's will provide trophies and the winners will be recognized during the closing ceremonies later that day.

Gail's is going all out to accommodate us again and will have reserved parking out in front of the store as well as burgers, dealer dogs and a live band. If you're in the market for a new accessory or apparel, please consider what they do for us and patronize them when possible.

BBQ Dinner and Closing Ceremonies
The “Hootchie Cootchie BBQ” team will be back this year for our traditional Kansas City BBQ dinner. This year’s menu will be a duplicate of last year with Ribs, Brisket and Chicken, sides and dessert. They enjoyed hanging with us last year and they did an outstanding job. If you get a chance, swing by and welcome them back.

Closing ceremonies will follow the BBQ. There are some outstanding items that will be given away and more items are being identified as we move closer. The JE Illusions paint set will finally be revealed and I’m sure it will be spectacular. The best part is that some lucky member will be taking it home with them. Like Vegas? Someone will be going home with a 5 day/6 night stay at the Hooters resort and casino which will include a 48 hour Harley Davidson rental. If whoever wins doesn't want either of the prizes, please, look me up!!

Hope to see you there!!!!
Any questions can be sent to v-rodrally08@live.com
Thanks.
