Question V-ROD Longevity

I have a 2006 v-rod with 5000 miles. I know my Road King will make 75,000-100,000 miles before a rebuild but how many miles can I expect from a v-rod? How many members have a v-rod with over 50,000? Thanks for any input.

Just read of a Beverly Hills guy on another site passing 50K.

I've seen V-Rods torn down at 50K, but only because it is time for a Big Bore. Even then, the sleeves still have cross hatching, and everything looks brand new.

I would expect a stock v-rod to make 200K before a major rebuild.

There are at least 20 folks in a V-Rod Century "Club"....100K miles or over.

That, Detective, is the correct question. A question doesn't have an answer yet. As Lil noted, only a few have broken through the 100k mark. Keep in mind the first model is a 2002.

Ride it until the wheels fall off or else you do! These bikes seem to have a great deal of longevity, you chose the right ride.

Default miles

I own a 2003 v-rod just past 62,000 miles. Best bike I have ever ridden.

With their engine specs I'd say that the VRODS are going to run a good long while before any major rebuild is needed.

a friend I have in TX named Max has a Vrod with 60,000 on it. The last 30,000 with a trask turbo hanging off the side running 6# of boost, with no internal mods. Vrod is liquid cooled. that gives it an advatage even before you figure in the balanced motor, and cams.

Great question to which I hope the answer is A VERY LONG TIME.

Yesterday marked my 3rd Month Anniversary with my VRSCDX and I just hit 4,000 miles this morning.

At the rate I ride I'd like it to last longer than the financing I have on it. LOL
