Default AIM Oil Change Article

Great article. Because I own a VROD and change my own oil I can say you guys were right on the money. One tip to add is if you dont own an oil filter wrench you can remove the radiator lower support bracket with two easy to get at bolts to increase access to the filter.

Thanks for the article.

You are welcome. In this time of tight money it sur helps to know how to do more of the "do it yourself" tech even if you don't do it yourself.

I'm with Eze rider, with the exception that V-Rods do have oil coolers, and pretty big ones at that.

It's been my experience that the best tool for removing the oil filter is a "spider" wrech. It's athree prong self adjusting wrech. They only work in one direction so there is no chance of over tightening an oil filter by using it to put the filter back on. The last one I bought was about $6 at Auto Zone. Since they fit multiple size filters, the one I bought for the V-rod also works very well on my wife's Cavalier. I wish I had one when she had '92 Sunbird!!
