Hey Lil. Good to see you. If you send a letter to AIM at the email in the first post, we can put it in print.

Good to see you!
Will do RJ. I've already sent one with another question.

In that case, the Metzler Marathon 880 is the tire you want. It's Z rated, comes in 240 and 260 widths, if you like that wider tire look. The compound matches front to rear. The wet weather grip is good, and the tire wear as good as the Dunlops, if not better, even though it's a softer compound.

The cuckoo part is that the rear tire is 880 XXL and the front is just 880. The dealership had no clue if they had the same tread.

Don't worry, Lil. They are. The XXL is just how they designate the wide tires.

Agreed.

I must admit Lil, After buying many parts from many companies a person becomes trained to make sure that part numbers match exactly. In this case the rear tires are designated with the XXL addition which is confusing. Good looking out for your friend!

Again Ed, a place other than that related with HD answers a question for an HD customer. It is funny sometimes to see the way customers react when the parts guy or salesperson asks me questions about the V. You all know the truth about how little I know and they are asking me questions!

That's how it starts, Lil. Pretty soon you'll start getting phone calls at home when the local dealers have questions reguarding V-Rods. One thing leads to another, and then you find yourself working part time for a Kick Ass HD Magazine.......

I'll just forward the calls to you.

Here is a question: How can a VRSCD kickstand be extended so that a shorter rider can more easily pull it down?
