Slap on a 26 tooth front pulley, and a Vance and Hines Second Gear set, and the bike has a whole new life, IMVHO.

I guess the key to your thinking is the want/need for a "dual" set-up. Theres always a compromise involved with that. For me it's perfect.
I'll say this: with a 6th gear and 26 tooth set-up would be ideal.
