Default Tech Article On Swapping Out A Front Wheel

What do you think of the V-Rod tech article on swapping out a front wheel for a Buell one in the April issue? This is the first of many we have in the line up, so we'd like to know what you thought of it, pro and con.

Note: Due to my magazine production and travel schedule I will not be giving responses to posts made here. However, I will be checking them as often as possible to get your feedback. Thank you for helping us make American Iron Magazine the best it can be.

I thought that was a good article, even though I don't own a vrod. I like knowing what fits what, and whats interchangable.

I thought that even though I am not a mechanic and do oh so very little wrenching on my motorcycle that the article provided a good "How To", in case I ever decided to take on the challenge. The pictures were great.

I also enjoyed the article, My only complaint is that my subscription just started on the May issue so I had to run out to the news stand for Part # 1 (the front wheel).

I also appreciate the attention to detail in the article, not just on the how to steps but also the little details about the lowering effect this has on the bike, changes to the handling and the impact on your speedo calibration. It appears the writer did his homework and provides the reader with the information and knowledge needed jump into this mod.

I am looking forward to future how to’s. ( How about converting VRSCF wheels onto older pre-2008 V-Rod’s).

Thanks for the compliments. That Last bit is a great Idea and I've been working with a guy locally on how to do exactly that.

When I get the stuff worked out, I plan on putting these very wheels on my Girlfriends 2006 Night Rod. I don't know how Chris feels about 2 articles on the subject of wheel changes, but I do believe I have the bugs worked out of the retrofit, so stay tuned.

Sounds great RJ, looking for to it and others I am sure you have in the works. I guess one clarification, I should have said pre-2008 as 2008 is when the axle size changed. As I understand it the F wheels are much lighter than stock, probably not as much as the Buell's but close.
