I kind of like the look of the V-Rod with a FLHR fairing and hard bags. With a little development and styling, I think HD would have a top notch "bagger of the future". What I don't like is the raked out front end on the V-Rod. Maybe a few degrees less rake would give a bike similar to the old FXR touring rig?

I would like to see the revo power plant in a fat tired monster bagger... i agree with trigger that it would look good with fairing modeled after the "sharknose" FLHR fairing.. but i think a trunk (tour-pak/king-pak whatever you want to call it) would not work.. the bike is too low

I thought the Street Rod would've made a good platform for a sport tourer. I'd buy something like that. Nice fairing, good hard bags, some kind of detachable trunk, perhaps a radio, and I'd be good to go.

When Harley developed the VRod they didn’t just dump the Revolution motor into an existing frame. They developed a completely new frame and with it a completely new platform. Should they decide to develop a touring VRod I would guess they would use the same approach and develop a completely new touring platform. All the ‘bolt on’ touring VRods we see now will probably never become the basis of a HD production VRod touring bike. I’m looking for something completely new.

Default bighorse?

**185 rear wheel? 9 seconds? Stock? Please........Whatever you're smokin' - share it! I own a Busa, one of the fastest production bikes made along with the 1400 Kaw (under $14,000 that is) - neither will even think of doing 9's stock and you'd be very lucky if they have 185 at the crank let alone rear wheel!!!
Yes bighose, the V-rod is Harley's high performance model, and they should be damn proud. It's hard as hell to get big HP out of a V-Twin and they not only did it, but they get 120 crank HP out of a relatively small displacement. 1130cc? Sheeeeet, there are Sportsters with bigger engines, the 96" Twin Cam is almost 33% bigger in displacement and spews out a whopping 68 rear wheel HP

4 overhead cams, 4 valves per cylinder, high compression pistons, multi-port fuel injection, square stroke displacement, one piece heads/jugs, one piece tranny/motor = 11.30 quarter mile / 120Hp at the crank!

Suxshui made a FI twin called the TL1000 & it ran faster then hell. Honda made a twin called the Superhawk and it was very fast, handled well & needed little care. Both of these machines do everything better then a V-Rod & are water cooled. I just can't understand why Harley can't or won't put a power plant like either one of the above mentioned on the floor.
