Default Mids! Mids! Mids!

The R isn't the only VRSC with mids. The D has mids AND highway pegs.

I personally cant stand the forwards on my NRS. I would love to ride a NRS with mids to see how it feels.

I love the twisties. I've ridden a few bikes with forward controls. When the road gets crooked I always feel like I'm about to fall off the bike with forwards. Maybe it's because I grew up on dirt bikes before getting my first street bike at 17. On long rides I've had other riders say they hate me because I can stand up and stretch during the ride. I guess with forward controls it's hard to stand on the pegs at highway speeds. BUT, the Night Rod (not the NRS) comes with highway pegs also!! Another plus for the long rides. With all the pegs sticking it out, the D does kind of resemble a porcupine.

No real choice being a amputee I have trouble bending the legs, since thumb brakes cost way to much.
Apart from not being able to stand up over a bump they are very comfy.

I grew up on street bikes with mid controls. My 74 Ducati 750 GT that I bought new and still ride today, of course has mids. My 2000 Superglide had mids. When I test rode a V-Rod I thought the forwards were great. When I ordered my "D" I had the mid controls removed and forwards installed. I think the forwards are much more comfortable and they handle fine for me. I have a set of Progressive 440's and if I'm really taking a long trip, I switch my stock seat to a Mustang. The Mustang looks kind of funky, but you can ride all day and your butt stays alive.

I've always ridden bikes with mid controls until I bought my NRS. I didn't like them at first, but after putting on the Sundowner seat, which moves you a little closer, I'm fine with them. And let me add, I LOVE THIS BIKE.

I was going to get the Street Rod but bought the V Rod, legs do not bend as well as they use to.

Horses for courses.

But 30 years of Harleys and the VRSCAW 07 is the best all round one to date.

Maybe the forward mount bikes need "reverse highway pegs". Put some pegsin a mid-mount position to rest your feet on to change position now and then, or stand up in the saddle, or for whatever reason.

A Ducati 750GT? Cool. I have one of those for a few years and used to roadrace an old Springerhead 750Sport back in the 1970s. Cool bikes and I can't believe what the old GTs are selling for these days!

I love the forward controls but do see that both styles have their pluses and minuses.
To each their own.
