| | V-Rod vs Street-Rod OK gang, votes for V-Rod (with forward controls) or Street-Rod with mid-sets.
Me personally, I have never been much of a forward control type. While comfortable on the highway for long miles, I prefer having my feet under me for better feeling of control. |

| | I'll go with mid controls myself. I also think that they allow for a better position by engaging the legs and therefor protecting your spine from road bumps |

| | | Mid control I agree that mid foot placement is preferable. I never hesitate to stand on the pegs when the going gets rough, let the legs absorb the jolt. |

| | | Ouch!!! I have to ride forward controls. A few years back I crushed my feet and ankles and mid controls are too uncomfortable. I think on my Sportster I would ride mid controls if I could. |

| | Being curled up into a semi-fetal position while riding is a pain in the dupa. While there is something to be said for the control issue, at 6'3" with long legs and big feet my circulation gets cut off and my toes don't slide between the pegs easily. If the VROD were a bit taller from the seat to the pegs the street rod would probably be easier for me to ride, but as it is, even with forward mounts my riding position looks like I'm using a mid-mount, which is far more comfortable.

| | | I thought the R has the pegs placed back further than normal "mid" controls, similar to jap sport bikes. The A's and Aw have more of a true mid set-up.
I vote for the forward controls, hated them at first but now can never go back! |

| | I V-Rod today for the first time. Mid controls, loved it. Iv'e only sat on one with forwards at the Dealers previously and did not like the set up. |

| | Like upnorthwi, I have no choice in the matter. My legs got near blown off in 67 and barley bend enough for the forward controls. I have learned to weight the pegs even though they are in front of me. I just pull back on the handle bars while I push with my feet. I'm very glad that H.D. offers a way to ride all their bikes with a stretched out option through the parts catalog. Even the touring models offer extended controls. |

| | Well, first, I call the Street Rod a VRod. I call all VRSC's VRods (is the Fatboy not a Softail?), but some isolate the R as "Street Rod" and not "VRod", so I will vote VRod, for more reasons than just the controls position. |

| | I come from a dirt bike background and never thought I would get used to the forward controls, but 10k miles later and I find I'm very comfortable on my W with the forward controls. I have considered adding mids for a change on long rides, but so far the dual control setups still look gimicky to me. | | | |
