Default Rear Wheel Pulley

I am changing out the rear pulley on a 2003 Deuce, and everyone knows the Deuce has to be difficult and everything is different. I am using a Softail Pulley and of course it does not have the spacing for a Deuce Wheel. It looks like I am going to have to add a .596 spacer to make this work (figure a .600 will work. Has anyone gone down this road, is there any problems other than making sure I am spaced correctly I should be concerned with? Thanks

What's you'r reasoning to change the rear pulley?Wouldn't it be easier to swap out the trans.pulley?

Does the spacer you're going to use have an Index for the new pulley.?
Same number of teeth on new pulley..???

I am not sure but I don't think the index on your current wheel is large enough to put on a .600" spacer and still have "index" for the pulley..

I would think that just being spaced correctly with correct belt alignment is good enough..

Smile Deuce Rear Pully

I got a new pulley for the rear of my Deuce, and it is not as thick at the attach point as the stock pulley that the bike comes with. Now I have to space the pulley out so it lines up with the drive. The stock Deuce pulley has a thicker center mount to make up for the design of the rear wheel. Actually I need a .597 spacer to bring the new pulley out to line up properly as the stock one did. Does not look like I am gong to have a problem but just wondering if there is any problems anyone else ran into.
