Default HOGPRO wide tire kit

Just joined site. Nice site! I have an 03 softail standard and I am looking at the hogpro 200mm wide tire kit. It basically is a new rear fender(cruiser style is what I like). Has anyone had any experience with these fenders and how they bolt up. They claim that with the wider rear fender a 200 will bolt on the factory swingarm with a couple of extras. Thanks for the input!

I will probably start another war with this one but here goes.First I love wide (only in tires) but like in chrome it looks good but don't get you home. Now if all you want is a bar hopper its OK, but for real riding don't go beyond a 150. Not sure if 03 had 150 or not but harley has a kit. The new o6's have a redeigned frame for the wider tire. If your going to just ride the straight and narrow go for it, otherwise say with what you got.

A 200mm is ok just don't go any larger, that's when you start running into problems. A 180mm is even better. The trick is to keep eveything lined up. A good site to check out is CUSTOM VALLEY. They make a nice kit and it can be pricey but it keeps everything lined up as it should be. Good Luck!

Apparently on this kit if you run a 180 which is what I am going to run everything is left stock. With a 200 you need there pulley and the 06 factory belt. Either which way sounds pretty safe but I do agree with the fact that going any wider is not smart. I dont think it looks real great with 300's on softails or whatnot. I think the bikes are to short or something. IMO . Thanks for the input!!

03 FXST's was the first year for 150mm 'stock'. In order to put a 200mm you will need to change:
1. swingarm
2. tranny pulley, spacer
3. drive sprocket
4. Belt
5. rear fender

The 180mm should fit because the inner fender width is approx. 7.5 in.... but it'll be tight.

No matter what type of fender you use whether it be a bobtail, chopped, tail dragger, whatever. You will need to do some tin work.
I agree with Tipper, the 150mm will give you better corner tracking then a 200 or larger. One of the reasons (other than cosmetic) HD went to 150's after 2003.

It's your bike, make it your own.

Happy Trails
