Default Critical To Wheel Purchase?

I am curious what is it in a set of wheels that we most look for when considering a purchase.

I have put together a small poll to find out. One vote each please.

Cost, cost, cost, cost... There are some great looking wheels out there, but I ain't payin' $1k+ for ONE when I already own two wheels that work perfectly well.

John 1:14

It is the duty of nations, as well as of men, to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins and transgressions, in humble sorrow, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon; and to recognize the sublime truth announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations only are blessed whose God is the LORD.

Actually, I like the "spokes" too. The 40 stockers on mine are about right .. but am thinking about relacing with chrome spokes for that little (?) extra sparkle .. and, less "elbow-grease", of course.

I don't understand why motorcycle wheels are so expensive. I can get 4 wheels for my truck for half the $$$ it costs for 2 for the bike. Then there is the purchase of matching pullys and rotors.

The wheel has got to integrate with the rest of the "look" of the bike, so I voted for design. The wrong wheels can make a great bike look bad, and the right wheels can make a mediocre bike look great. I've got the original spokes on my Heritage, and I think they look right for the 50s look of the Heritage. The Electra Glide is black and I think the stock black and aluminum wheels fit really well with the minimal chrome on that bike. I like the look of a lot of the aftermarket wheels, though, and some of the wheel companies' web sites allow you to try their wheels on your bike. Its a lot cheaper than buying the wrong wheel.

Agree with you 100% Trigger, but I'll also say that I've never seen a bike with spokes where they didn't look good or integrate well. Perhaps they are the way to go for cost AND style!

Hi BlueBob

I could'nt help noticing that you kind of stressed the "cost AND style" part in your post. You DO know I was just "pulling your chain" with the "part with some of that communion money" thing above..I hope! It was just my way of AGREEING with you. Yeah, and I've got to agree with you,HERE too..as well as Trigger,.and others,at least 'til the $$$$$ thing gets out of whack,IMO,anyhow !!
