Default 07 Heritage Front Wheel Hub Cap

Hi,
I just got my first Harley last May. 07 Heritage Classic and I love it!

I saw another Heritage the other day with the Hub cap on the right side removed. I liked how it looked so I decided to remove mine.
  • I took off the wheel and spacers.
  • Removed the retaining clip and Hub cap.
  • Re-assembled everything and torque as spec'd (heavy on the torque)
Everything seems fine, but the spacer has an indent for the Hub Cap so you can see the outer edge of the Sealed bearing. I want to know if I am supposed to get different spacers to keep road gunk away from the Sealed bearings? The spacer on the brake side is much smaller and exposes a lot more.

Any help would be cool

Thanks

Naw you should be okay. Its just the top of seal you are seeing. Dirt is not going to get in there. If it makes you feel good get a new spacer without the indent.

Thanks! I did road test and back up & riding once I completed the rest of the 10K maintenance Now it's time to look at what I want to do to make it my own!
