Default 300 Tries...When Is Too Much?

OK, so what's the deal with these huge 300 series and larger tires?

If I see another foot dragger scrapping around with a 300 series tire on the back wobble the way down the road I'm going to lose it.

When is this nonsense with oversized tires going to end?

Not soon enough... Absolutely no bigger than 200, if you ask me. And my personal preference is for 160-180.

John 1:14

It is the duty of nations, as well as of men, to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins and transgressions, in humble sorrow, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon; and to recognize the sublime truth announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations only are blessed whose God is the LORD.

I'm not saying. I'm just saying maybe these guys are trying to compensate on the back end something that isn't as large on the front end if you know what I mean.

Or maybe they didn't get that "Big Wheel" from Santa many years back. Each his own I guess. Them things gotta be kinda spendy Huh? Course if you only ride it in town and to social gatherings it would last a good long time before tire rot got it.

I have to admit a huge fat tire on the rear and a skinny 21"er on the front does make a bike look bad. Makes 'em handle evil though and that's not good.

The main reason to use a fat tire is so you can launch faster in a drag race without spinning your tire but not too many people choose it for that reason.

Traction off the line is definately a big plus in drag racing. But,those big tires/wheels also make for a lot of mass to spin on the big end...mostly for SHOW on the street and "way-over-kill" at 300 for MOST bikes IMO anyhow

I feel the same way - but that is where we live - the land of excess.
