Default Here's an Article i would love to read.

Hi Mike.

I have a new 2006 FLHT Electra glide, wile I have had no real issues with the bike, living in the northwest as I do, and being an X- sporty rider, I am thinking of upgrading my tires for more grip, wet and dry.
The problem is a lack of any comparable data on motorcycle tire.
Sure, the manufacturers will tell you how there tires are the best, but compared to what?
On what bikes?
And even if they will work right with my heavier bike.

I think this would make a good long term article for your magazine.

Each month, you take one bike and three staff writers to a track, invite as many tire manufacturers to show up with there top of the line tires, and they run them on the same bike.
One month it could be a Tour bike, next a Dyna and then a softail, and so on.

Then, your staff writers can give us a honest good points/bad points on how they felt the tires performed, and which they would get if it were there own bike.

I know this would be a lot of work to do, but I can't imagine a tire maker that would not jump at the chance to join in on this.

With the evolution in Motorcycle tires, new compounds and bias ply radial, we are seeing today, we can really use some solid information to help guide us.

Thank you for reading.

Yeah, I'd like to read that too. I'd have to wonder how many tire manufacturers would show up and how we'd be able to qualify each set of rubber in a meaningful way.

But it sure would be cool to try.

Thanks.
