Default wheel building, lacing & truing

Does anyone know where I can get taught to build, lace and true wheels? I have tried MMI & Wyotech but they require that you take their entire motorcycle mechanic course to get it. I am only interested in learning to do wheels and do them correctly and well.

Hey Tyson
I just checked out the site Steel provided the link to..and am really impressed with it overall. Unfortunately although wheel lacing & trueing is'nt exactly "rocket-surgery" there's more to it than what's explained/shown there. In fact,it's been so long since I've actually relaced a wheel vs just trueing them,I'd have take a little refresher course...and there just is'nt enough on THAT particular subject at the site Steel provided, even for me to get much from..noting that even the writer states that it's not one of his specialties...

I'll check my stash of books/manuals for the one I should still have on the subject (easy reading & simple diagrams) and try to get back to you with the name,etc...if/when I can.
Meanwhile,though..check with any good book store (Barnes & Knoble for example) and they should be able to find one for you on the subject...noting that'd be ALL you'd need to get started..along with a decent trueing stand..dial indicator set-up...a universal spoke wrench...practice,practice,practice...and "uhhh" oh yeah, a wheel and some spokes of course.

Or,"hey"...just keep searching the web..there's bound to be SOMETHING for you,out there..no need for a special school
