Default rear tire on 01 ultra

My 2001 ultra has a Dunlop MT tire on the back. My brother has and 04 ultra and his has a MU tire on the back which is a little wider. Can I put a MU tire on the back of mine or will there be a clearance problem with anything in that area...swingarm...etc? Thanks

The MT is a 130, about 5.10 in width, the MU is a 140, about 5.5 to close to 6" in width... I have one that's about 5.750"...
Take some measurements, do you now have about an inch of clearance
to your belt, and insides of your fender etc.?
If so, probably the 140 will fit, but YOU gotta take all the readings, then you'll know for sure...
Your turning/leaning/cornering may be a wee bit slower...
Get some catalogs, almost all these spec's is in them...
Jireh Cycles, Fog Hollow, Dennis Kirk, etc...
All free...

We switched to Avons on the wifes Duece and it was like going from the old bias ply tires to Michelins...what a difference. I will be switching from Dunlops to either Avons or Metzlers on my Road Glide as soon as I need tires. They do not follow the grooves in the road like the Dunlops and they are really nice in the rain. The downside is you probably should change front and raer so you will have a matching set.

One more point to make on the metzelers. You can go to the 140 upgrade as long as you didn't lower the rear end otherwise you can run into some interference problems. Also they are very reactive. You'll wonder why you didn't make the switch sooner!

I'll add that in 30+ years I've run almost every brand but Metzers are my favorites... Run a couple diff Metz, I like the 880's best...
I've always read that you don't want to mix brands but I think it's bull, I've mixed em many times, never felt a diff...
I've never run sickle radials though...

Howdy I have a 01 rdglide lowered 1in front and rear(legend air ride in back factory harley in front) what kind of problems are you taking about... You can go to the 140 upgrade as long as you didn't lower the rear end otherwise you can run into some interference problems.
