The bike is multi purpose.....Street and Strip. So the front tire does get worn on the way to and from the track.

I got 9000 and could have squeezed another 1000 out of my rear tire (stock Dunlop) before I changed it. The front tire still looks like new with 12K. I don't carry a passenger and no too much weight goes into my bags. I check my tire pressure once or twice a week so I know its right on.

I got 6100 out of the first one. I have 6k on the 2nd (dunlop) and might get another 1000 out of it.

Wow after reading all these post's i feel like maybe i better take it easy my original dunlop on the 08 fxdwg and the 06 fxdwg both were worn down to the point of no tread in the middle by 8000 miles!,which I thought was great, having been used to half that out of sport bike tires now I see that some of you are getting twice the 8000 that i was so proud of makes me realize the potential out there!

I just changed rear and front OEM tires yesterday. Mileage was 12,349. The rear tire still had some life left but not for touring standards, and the front was in great condition. I went with all black tires (since I'm lazy cleaning the SWW) and stuck with OEM Dunlop 402.

I bought my first Harley (07 heritage) and was shocked to get only 7,000 miles off the original rear tire. The dealership told me that it's because of all the ground up seashells they add to the pavement in Florida roads. My front tire is in great shape. This is going to get expensive if I have to replace the rear every 7K...maybe I should move to another state.

Question Re: Rear Tire Milage

I have an 04 FLHRS w/ 42,000 mi. on it never got more than 6500 from the rear w/ the OEM Dunlops. Double that on the front. So I've bought two back tires for every front tire so far. I run the wide WW tires. Any sugestions on a tire with wide white walls that would last longer?

Went for my inspection at my dealer. He said he will pass it but will need new tires in about 1000 miles. That would give me 7500 rear and 13500 front.I can live with that.

Metzelers have outlasted the Dunlops time and time again for me on my 01 Deuce. Keep the pressure at 44 out back, and 40 in the front. Im getting twice the mileage

I've been running Avon Venom since '96 on my '94 FLSTC and since '06 on my '05 Road Glide. I have been getting 10.500 to 12,000mi on the rear tire on both bikes. These are great tires in the rain and with the sport profile they make the bike seem lighter and easier to push thru the twisties. I love to ride and ride fast, I believe that tire pressure and proper alignment are the key to good milage. The FLSTC has 139,000mi and the Glide has 52,000mi.
