My tire of choice is the Avon Venom as well.

Great mileage outta them & they grip really well in wet/dry condtions

Changed tires on the 07 EG today, 10,000 miles on the rear, 18,000 on the front and both could have gone a little farther, but...............
I put the stock Dunlops back on for one more time.

Ok here's my take..Started with stock dunlops..402's ('99 FLHRCI,then '07 FLTR), then I went to the Metz 880's both of these (several of each) I got right at 7500 on the rears and about double that on the fronts. Then I went with the Dunlop E3's Biased tires..my first rear I got 9700 miles..2200 more than the others..I'm just getting ready to order another rear and I'm at 10200 on my second rear.I got right at 15,000 on the first front,second front still doing fine.
I'll stay with the E3's..they get better milage than the other two,and they handle better than both..wet,dry,and in the twisties..

I am on my 3rd rear tire,Just changed Both, 34.000 on the front. Each time so far 17,000 on the rear,I check pressures Everytime i go out,I keep 40 psi front and rear.We do have good roads around here,But i ride 2 up 95% of the time.My ride is 08 ultra classic.35,000 And change for miles,I will run the dunlop 402 untill i can not get them any more,It also helps that i have an awsome shop i get them from.Local HD shops want $519.00 installed for the set.My tire place is Less than $400

Has anyone ever put on a performance rated car tire on the rear of a touring bike? They have a soft rubber compound and on touring bikes you don't really lay the bike over too far. Just wondering,a friend is thinking of trying it on his Victory touring bike.

I cant imagine a car tire on my bike..yes its a touring bike, '07 FLTR, but I lean it into the floorboards all the time...

I'll let the guy put one on his Victory,I'll stay with tires designed for motorcycles.I've got just about 13,000 on my rear tire now with tead depth at 5/32. This is on a 09 Ultra I picked up in June, it's usually carrying two people and our travel gear.If I can get that many miles out of a rear tire I'm happy with that.I think it being a wider tire than on the older Ultra's has alot to do with it.
