I am looking at getting my first bike and I am nervous about being able to hold a harley up. I am only 5"tall and weigh 100lbs. Some have recommended the 883 sportser hugger and others tell me the sportsers are very top heavy and I'd be better off with a softtail or a fat boy. Any suggestions?

Well my wife's first bike was a 07 883L The L = lowered which was good for her and she is 5'7". I suspect that you would need at least that, and maybe even some good boots. Are they top heavy? Sure, maybe a little but nothing I think worth debating. The other big twin bikes you meantioned are going to be heavier regardless of where that weight is. The only thing worth considering IMO is that the sporties are a bit wound up on the highway, more so the 883 over the 1200 which she has now.

Her 07 883L

her new 1200N (nightster which is also lowered).

Dont mind her cheesy smilie, that was her first day riding solo on her new bike, rode it to work n back.

You can see how well her knees are bent at her 5'7" hieght, so at 5' even you will probably be on the balls of your feet.

Thanks Chris, that helped alot. I think I will continue to look into the 883's to start off with like I was before......and buy some high healed boots!
