I sure hope - and will do whatever I can to make sure this motorcycle forum doesn't turn into a place where one person tells another how to dress or what to wear. And yes, I agree a lot of women do look good in them.

I simply never understood the popularity so I asked. The Village People line was just poking fun Now I have a better idea of why and when people wear them.

Personally, I still feel odd wearing them on or off the bike. But that's just me.

John 1:14

It is the duty of nations, as well as of men, to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins and transgressions, in humble sorrow, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon; and to recognize the sublime truth announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations only are blessed whose God is the LORD.

Does keeping a couple of old Indians in my garage count?

Like has been said, it helps for a wind break and an impromptu rain suit. I just found the rain suit out the other day when riding through a flash shower that turned into a down pour. Ya know a great day for riding just a little cloud over there then the bottom falls out of it and turns into a turd floater, had on my leathers and was dry as a bone. Oh yeah being raised on a farm when I was a boy we would wear them hauling hay, that alfalfa, and sudex hay goes through Levis like crap through a goose!

I read once that denim, wears through in ten feet, leather takes about one hundred+-, depending on the leather.
Just like your mama said, “wear protection.”
I put mine away in the winter, and wear winter gear.
They are a hassle to put on for a short ride, but if I am going anywhere, over a fifty miles and it is “Nice” not to hot or cold, I wear them.
I take them off when I stop, feel a little funny while not on the bike, they are heavy, hot.
I Have explained many time why bikers wear leather.
When people say something about the Village people, I just say “Who? Not into that stuff, but since you are I don’t have a problem with that.”
Then I just kind of back away from them and grin.
