I have had a pair for a month now, and they seem real good. I have not used them in any sort of extreme conditions. They are comfortable, and I guess pone could say I'm still breaking them in.

I have owned a pair of the original FXRG Series 1 boots that came with Thinsulate in them for about five years now. Have always liked those boots but I rarely wear them because they are too warm for anything but riding in the coldest weather. They have held up well over years and I still use them when I know I will be out riding in extreme cold weather. They are probably the warmest driest riding boots I have ever owned but I found them just to warm to wear regularly because as soon as I am off the bike my feet start sweating and I hate having sweaty feet.

Just got a pair of the new FXRG Series 3 boots but I have yet to break them in. I like what I have felt the few times I have worn them but the are narrow on my wide feet so I only had them on for short stints in dry weather trying to stretch them. Hopefully they will break in to be more comfortable in the width department. Basically I got them because I love Gore-Tex.

I plan to write a full review of them in the magazine at a future date.

You hit the nail on the head there Joe, I would love to wear some of them but, I can't find any for a EE/EEE foot. 20+ years in the military most of them in a D width boot sucked!!!!! I personally wear a Red Wing boot and I love them. I have looked at Harley shops from Tulsa to Shreveport and Houston to Dallas and all of them say the same thing "NOPE". I'll be in San Antonio next week I'll look around there some.

I have been using these boots down here in San Antonio for the last five yrs and they are the only Harley boots I'll buy. They're comfortable and very light weight. They are outstanding in wet weather. You'll be hardpressed to get your feet wet unless the water is above the top of the boots. It gets over 100 degrees here in summer, and I wear these almost everyday, except when I put my sandles on. Actually, I ran across this thread when I typed in Harley FXRG boots in my search box. I am trying to find some replacements at a discount. Other boots may look cooler, but these are really great. I am a retired firefighter and wore the same type boots for over 34 yrs., so I know how important comfort and protection are. Ride safe!!

Cool Re: FXRG Boots

I have a pair of FXRG2's that I picked up off E-Bay from a H-D dealer that was selling off his stock. I got them last June and have worn the in 90 degree weather here in the Four Corners area. I found that my socks were always dry when I take the boots off, I guess the GoreTex lets the moisture escape thru the boot. I wanted a pair of the Series 3 FXRG but I can't find anyone that has them in stock because of the price. I have stopped in to lots of dealers between Colorado and the east coast and hear the same story. The local dealer can get them on special order but I am hard to fit and I'll be stuck with them if they don't fit. My fit issues are the opposite of most folks, I am a narrow fit. Bottom line is I like 'em.
