Westport, CT. February 18, 2009. The Fairfield County Concours d’Elegance, now in its sixth year, increases the presence of two-wheelers for its 2009 event on September 12 and 13. Having shown 20 motorcycles in 2008, around 40 bikes from North America, Europe and Asia are expected to be on display at the Fairfield County Hunt Club in Westport, CT, this year.

“We are about more than fabulous automobiles on grass; our event celebrates the history of the motorcycle in its many iterations,” says John Shuck, co-founder of the Fairfield County Concours d’Elegance, and a biker himself. “We want to increase the size of the display and add an even more comprehensive mix of bikes this year. We will include pre-war American motorcycles like Harley- Davidson, Indian and other less known brands,” says Shuck. “We also will have a fine selection of British motorcycles from the late 50s and 60s, like Triumph, Norton, BSA, Matchless and Vincent.”

Bikes from North America, Europe and Asia Unusual for an event paying homage to two-wheeled motoring, the Fairfield County Concours d’Elegance will open the field to significant motorcycles from all eras and countries. “As vintage Japanese bikes are also making waves at the auctions and on the show circuit these days, we are planning to once again have a great selection of Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha mounts.” European bikes, including BMW, Ducati and Moto Guzzi, will also be displayed.

On Tour on Saturday, 12 September 2009
Not only will the bike lover see numerous ultra-rare motorcycles from the early 1900s to today on the show field on Sunday, September 13, Shuck also encourages owners to participate in the Nutmeg Tour for Autism on Saturday, September 12: “Folks love to see these magnificent machines in action. To see them and to hear them means so much more than to just admire them statically.”

The Car and Motorcycle Club Celebration
New for 2009 is the Car and Motorcycle Club Celebration. The Fairfield County
Concours d’Elegance invites significant car and motorcycle clubs from around the nation to participate in the celebration on Saturday. While club participation is strictly by invitation only, clubs who wish to participate can contact the Fairfield County Concours d’Elegance at clubs@fairfieldcountyconcours.com to apply for their particular club’s participation on Saturday, September 12. There will be club lunches available, and members will be able to attend restoration seminars or browse through the extensive automobilia and motorcycle section on display at the event.

Buzz Kanter new Advisory Committee Member
