NC State HOG Rally Aug 19-22, 2009

The NC State HOG Rally is being held in Mt Airy NC. This town is better known as "Mayberry" from the Andy Griffith show.

There is a lot of good riding in this area and is very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway.

This area is my neck of the woods. If anyone is planning on going, I can suggest some non-published roads and places to visit in this area.

I'll be running a dyno shootout at the local HD Dealer, "Smokin Harley Davidson" (formally Curly's HD) on Aug. 22, 2009.

Vryquik, I live near Charleston SC, have passed thru Mayberry in the cage a couple of times, but have not spent anytime in the saddle around those parts. Since I have participated in the ABC's the last couple of years, I often try to hit a few state rallys to collect a point or two. The NC Sate Rally sounds like a good idea. Can you recommend a good campground with hot showers and a place for my little tent for a few days? If I make the trip, I'll look you up. Thanks,

I am planning to come down from Roanoke, VA with a buddy of mine. We are staying at a hotel in Mt. Airy. Definately interested in some offbeaten unpublished roads to ride
