Default Nova Scotia: better than Maine

Last summer I travelled from Michigan to ride around Nova Scotia . I experienced many unique phenomenon. I stood on the floor of the Bay of Fundy at low tide and watched the tidal bore as the tide returned. I had the best encounter with humpback whales of many such excursions taken around North America. The Cabot Trail is truly amazing, although describing it as twisty (ok, there are a few twists) would confound someone who has ridden the best of our American eastern and western mountainous regions.

The Atlantic coast is every bit as beautiful as Maine, but without the summertime crowds. That makes for a far more relaxing experience while negotiating the coastal roads.

The people are friendly and amazingly open. It frequently took us five minutes to get past the how-are-you's with waitpeople and move on to placing our orders. If someone overhears you talking about something that they feel they can help with, they absolutely will interject. (There's obviously a couple of stories here).

The point of all this is that I was not introduced to the mentioned motorcyclists' tourism guide until I picked one up at the tourist information site at the entrance to Cape Breton. It is very well done and worth having for planning your Nova Scotia holiday.
