Cool Hand Wave

Can we start a new trend and not wave to everyone going by on a bike? This is rediculous, can you imagine if eveybody in the same car or truck stuck there hand out the window and waved? Taking you hand off the bars should be for hand signals. I personally am afraid to take my hands of the bars so I never wave

Default You're on the wrong way man!

It's an ancient old tradition to greet honors on roads for collegue riders, see it as the oldest road tradition in the world, same traditions everywhere you go with your bike.

I honor those who keeps up the old ways we should be very care of to preserve in use. Never forget the brother and sisterhood along our roads.

I agree with BB. I've ridden with groups where the HD riders only wave to other HD's, but I wave to everyone. I figure at least I'm doing my part to keep the bro/sister hood thing going....I've stopped (whether on my bike or in the pickup) to help other riders no matter what kind of bike they're riding. I figure it's good karma to put out there when I break down

Of course, if a guy on a Gold Wing doesn't wave (as one old road dog told me) it's because he hasn't found the "electric Wave button" yet!

I don't mind riding during Canadian winters, as long as I'm in Arizona!

I wave most of the time. I fully understand that in heavy traffic it is not always possible to return the greeting.People MOSTLY drive cars out of necessity rather than sport. Exceptions would be subgroups such as those who restore and drive old British sports cars for instance. I would be very, very surprised if they didn't wave. There is surely a sense of camaraderie among fellow survivors of "Lucasitis".

I've always waved when possible. ShovelMike, I had my MGB for 20 years, and we always waved at other MGs. Its a respect thing, almost like a salute of sorts, brother welcoming brother...its a great tradition.

I also follow this tradition. BB is right on target, spirit and letter...If I can't wave, like heavy traffic, then it's eye contact and a knod. I wave to all usually. Large rallies like sturgis, I don't, and it seems to be understood.

Jeep owners another group. So, no, we keep waving. Kiddin, df...do what makes you comfortable.

I wave to everyone. When we first moved to N.AZ, 20 years ago, everyone you saw on the road waved, all the people in cars waved to other people in cars. It didn't matter if you were on a bike or in a cage, the people would wave. Now, only a few people in cars wave to other people in cars. People are getting more selfish and self centered than ever before. I think B.B. is right on and we as Americans, need to really slow down and consider all our actions this year. There seems to be a "I'm going to get mine no matter what" attitude in our society that no good will come from. Thanks for the reminder B.B.

I wave whenever it's safe to do so. When it's not, I nod. Why wouldn't I?

Has anybody else ever waved at a scooter by accident?

John 1:14

It is the duty of nations, as well as of men, to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins and transgressions, in humble sorrow, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon; and to recognize the sublime truth announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations only are blessed whose God is the LORD.

I just somehow have diffuclty seein' somethin' with 6" wheels, a 2-stroke, and no M-class license as a motorcycle. Reckon I'm just a snob that way.
