Default No more Christmas. All Santas deer are dead!!

Coming back from Wisconsin Dells I took Highway 90/94 into Lacrosse to make up some time from an early morning detour. In that 80 or so miles I counted 17dead deer on the road. One was split in two in the middle of the highway. Ahead of that was a bike in the ditch. Rider down. Paramedics, Fire truck and a few cops on the scene.

From the looks he must have hit the remains from the night before. Following too close behind the vehicle in front and did not see? Every time I am on that stretch it is deer sausage heaven. Wisconsin Hunters? Do they know how to thin the herd a bit? Be careful of that stretch of road at night. It rains deer from the heavens.

Pretty much the same story here in Missouri. A few years ago I submitted claims on 2 vehicles at once from collisions with deer and came very close to nailing on with the Harley.

Way to many deer in Wisconsin. There are as many deer killed during a single hunting season, as the total deer in the state in the 60's. Started out you could get one buck, then a party system where 4 people could register for a drawing in hopes of getting a extra permit to get a doe in addition to the buck, now in some areas get any deer and they hand you another tag. It is an exception to go for a ride and not see several deer.
