It's funny you should mention polo, Adam. That reminds me of the time I craved to participate in a couple of chukkars of polo. It was most difficult to switch hands with the mallet and work the clutch and the throttle at the same time. Forget the front brake. I was just managing to get the hang of it when they requested that I retire to to spectators pavillions for mint juleps. It seems that the wheels on the bike were making short work of the stable of expensive polo mounts and the boys were having no more of it. It was all in good fun, though.

Well now SamW. I don't know what qualifies as hair raising to you, but ridin' on a little strip of land in the middle of an alligator infested marsh and seeing your life flash before your eyes with the prospect of being sent to the single-cylinder Harley hunting grounds by a moving two-by-four sure raised the hair somewhere on me.
It's kind of like ridin' a bicycle on a board. Your brain knows that all you have to do is steer it straight but dang if you don't wind up trying with all your might to keep from running off the edge. Now if you put that board across a chasm over a 1,000 foot drop it makes it all the world different. That's what it felt like when that hair was busy raising up somewhere on me.

Thanks, Gunny. You know, Gunny's hold a special place in my heart and mind. One got me out of the drunk tank in Iwakuni and another one bailed me out of a New Bern, N.C. jail after I got a DUI on my first Harley. But's that's a different time and era to be repeated no more.
The only difference between Mississippi and Louisiana is an imaginary line on a map someone drew to collect taxes. We're in a race to rank 1 or 2 in lists of things that are bad in the 50 states and to rank 49 and 50 in the state lists of things that are good.
They've got plenty of turtles in Mississippi, too, and I imagine there's a few of the Kamikaze bloodline there. After all, in a few thousand years, the mighty Mississippi built all of this entire area between the mountains to the east and west.

Gunny's should hold a special place in all Marines hearts. We can get you out of damn near anything or we can deliver a butt chewing like none other or both. Gunny's are the guys that are not usually forgotten.

Awesome....I will keep an eye out for the kami turtles while in MS. Maybe get a pic or two of them.
