Default Turn Head Left than Right and Forgot Left again.

Do to some personel problems I have been running ragged this last Month and a Half. I am no longer in my home and reside elsewhere until I find a more permanent place. Well, when I was at my home and tired I use to walk in the garage and bypass the bike and go right to my car. I dont have that option no more. I either have the car or the bike close by. Since I have been riding a lot more the Bike was in the parking lot. I hopped aboard and headed to the long awaited appointment with my Attorney.

Came to the edge of the parking lot where it meets the street. Looked left. Nothing. Looked right. Car coming. Waited until it past and did not look left again. Just started turning left when I noticed a pretty blue car. Ooops. Boy am I a dumb@&&. He was speeding a bit. I stopped with front wheel turned.

He screeched a bit and went around me. Bike started leaning to the left. I am calling it a half drop. I was able to swing my right leg off the saddle and the bike rested against my left thigh. Damn them bikes are heavy when they go over. Pegs touched briefly and she was back up.

You know the few F-Ups I have had was when I was was dead @&& tired. Maybe its time to put the bike keys on the counter. But hey... How am I gonna get home....Just gonna have to ride!!!! Consider it another learning experience.

The kid had to see me in his rearview mirror. Huh.. think he woulda stopped and called me stupid or asked if I was alright.......

Sorry to hear about your problems and I hope they get resolved as quickly and painless as possible. Also glad you didn't get nailed by the pretty blue car. I can relate with you about riding half a#*ed tired and doing something that really gets your attention. When I ride to work( more often now ), I'm leaving at 3:45am and am still half asleep. It's only about 13 miles to work but I stay at about 45 mph and just make sure I get there. It may sound kind of wierd, but after a day of riding I will sometimes revisit the ride in my mind and see if I may have done something on the bike that I shouldn't have .Oh well, keep your head up and be safe!!

Sounds like life threw you a curveball. I'll float up some prayers for you, brother.

One of the main reasons I don't ride to work more often is so I don't have to ride tired. The smallest lapse in judgement or attention can ruin your day.

John 1:14

It is the duty of nations, as well as of men, to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins and transgressions, in humble sorrow, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon; and to recognize the sublime truth announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations only are blessed whose God is the LORD.

Joe, sorry to hear about your problem and needing an attorney I was faced with a similar issue three years ago; it took me a year to get my head back on straight. During that year every stupid move I made just dug the hole deeper. It may not look like it now but it gets better; what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Church and friends got me back on the right track; you'll find your way.

JC best of luck on your personal problems, hope they work out for ya. This should be a good reminder for the riders that no longer how long you have been riding, If you dont have a clear head a small laps in judgement could cost you your bike or even worse your life.

JC keep riding, if your like me its the only thing that keeps the in out of sanity. My thoughts are with you brother.

Thanks for the replies you all. I have a great family and friends. Things will work out. Just a matter of time! Anyway. Yup when beat make sure yer head is out your butt before you throw a leg over. Way too many accidents or mistakes happen when you are tired. Like when I dropped that screw driver bit in my intake about 4 years back or getting another room half painted before I realized I was putting the wrong color on the walls....Boy I have a few more also............

JP I went through a time where I didn’t have a place to stay and needed a lawyer. Life sure sucked for a while. Only thing I am going to say is we need the hard times to appreciate how much better they get after the problem is over.
Got a new wife, a lot better than the old one, yea I traded up, not like my old cheating one who traded down.
Life is good.
We are thinking about you.

Hang tough...and keep riding..just be as safe as possible. I've made the same mistake. Life throws us all some nasty curves sometimes, but you got character and will come out just fine! Clif

Good one Big Daddy! Those White Outs can really suck! I always keep my head up. Just the way I am. Just get a little tired sometimes. Thanks all.
