Default 2 Nights 3 deer

This summer I ran through a few deer carcasses on the road. Missed the big pieces kicked up a few small.

Well my new gal "Flower" does not like the idea of me riding in the winter. She is afraid the cars will not see me cuz they are not used to bikes being on the road. I am the first bike rider in her life. She is starting to understand why I ride. Guess she worries a bit. Don't blame her...But I will continue to ride. Have to!

Don't tell her......Its not the cars I have to worry about. Its them damn deer! Three of them in just a few days decided to come and say hi while I was traveling at high speeds. No shine from their eyes. They don't bother looking before they cross the road. These furry friends need to hibernate. Now if you hunters would do your job.............

Yeah JC ...those damn deer! I'm originally from Michigan. I know about those damn deer. I'm way more scared of those damn deer than I am of cages. One of my sisters got her Buick Riviera totalled by one of those damn deer. You're driving along having a good time, minding the road and your own business when suddenly one of those damn deer is approaching you out of the d-d-dark unknown at 70 mph. Holy she-ite! Your destiny (for that moment anyway) is there waiting for you without warning. Bad news a comin' for you and the deer. If the two of you are lucky you get away unscathed but man, it sure does wake you up doesn't it?

Ahhhh yes....deer. I hate them now. As I dropped the bike off at the shop, I had some "expert" telling me what I should have done. Obviously he's never been in this situation. I love people like that. You got about 1 second to react. AT least thats about what I had. I must of done something right...Im still here. BOtz

Never pranged a deer with my motorcycle but nailed a few with my SUV.

They jump out of nowhere right in front of you ina split second and splatter whatever you are in or on.

Too big to ignore and too hard to see to avoid. I second the comment about all you hunters need to do a better job.

There were 222,979 deer killed by hunters in New York in 2008. If there are still deer running the roads, the NY State Department of Environmental Conservation needs to increase the limit and let hunters kill more deer. Dead deer don't cross highways.

I try not to ride after dark here or real early in the morning during the fall. This place is building up fast, the deer have no-where to go and they run in friggin herds around here. You may miss one but it's hard to dodge 10-12. In the last couple years it has only got worse. I agree...raise the limit hunters can bag!

I hope I don't sound dumb but do those whistlers work the ones that are supposed to keep deer away? We don't have too much of a problem with deers here but the one we have are big desert muleys. But when I was driving from Fredericksberg Texas to Austin there were hundreds standing along the highway. Right along the LBJ Ranch fence. The slowest 65 miles I ever drove.

We have suicide coyotes here. Have come close several times but so far always a miss. One of my riding partners told me he never had one dart out on him and I told him keep riding with me and you will. Well we went to an Armed Forces Poker Run 45 miles north of us and 2 of those darned things ran out in front of me. He believes me now! I think that's why they always make me ride lead!

Oh I want the 2 nights of FREE beer.

I wondered about that deer whistle too..... where would you mount it??? on top of the helmet? or one on each side of the helmet. I wouldnt want it on the bike........

nothin' says "redneck" like a deer whistle on the front fender of your Harley!
