Default Mobile Motorcycle Services??

Has anyone out there heard of such a thing? I was wondering if there was an actual need for such a service? Say like mobile oil changes, maybe even mobile detailing. Would it work? I have been looking into this and have only seen a few that offer a service like this...the site was more dedicated to selling the actual trailers and wash systems rather then the service itself. I would be interested in offering such services if there was any kind of a market for it...

Just a thought!

Default Go for it!

There would probably be a market for that, Kustom. Swing by their home or office and service the bike. I guess your winters are mild so it would be a year round operation- not so here in Missouri.

Default thanks~

Looking into it right now. I have seen that there is a service just like I am describing in Southern Ca. Not sure how the business is doing, but....

I am going to purchase a covered trailer and set it up for operation starting some time next year. I will keep ya posted!

I know of two guys in the northern Detroit suburbs that have done this, and have had some good sucess. The main thing you want to do is network, and get to know your potential clientelle/market. Word of mouth will, no doubt, drive your customer base, and a quality product is a must. One bad report, especially at the outset, will trash your opportunity. Think about incorporating services other than oil changes...5000 and 10000 mile checkups, done in their own garage or driveway, maybe even top end rebuilds. Also consider adding a pickup service for stranded riders, since you'll have a trailer.

Good luck!

Rick

Thumbs up

I think this is a great idea. There were a couple of kids doing mobile detailing around here. They were doing quite well until 1 of them bought a crotch rocket and well you know the rest. I often thought why didn't someone do mobile mechanics???? Like as been stated word of mouth will help you but it will also end it if something bad happens. I would pay a little more for this service - but that is just me.
