Default Pricing inconsistencies

So I go to a HD dealer here in Calgary- and the Nightster is priced the same as a SuperGlide, then travel to the coast and drop in to the HD dealer there, and suddenly the Nightster is 2 G's less for the same bike...no wonder I
m thinking of travelling south of the border to do a deal.

I'll be checking the prices really carefully on a Glide before I plunk any money down!

HD cut the price of the Glide this year to just under $12k. I reckon it's a hell of a lot of bike for the money, and around here a Nightster will run at around $9K+. So, yeah about $2K is right. Are they asking the higher price for the N,or is the Glide even lower in Canada? Either way the Glide is better value IMHO.

Agrees the Glide is more bang for the buck at that price and I ride a Sportster by choice...

2 G's wow!
Did both bikes have the same accessories?
I know the dealers here sometimes put a lot of extras on the bike which raises the price a grand or more. I ride an '03 Superglide Sport which at the time was priced at the level of a regular Superglide here in Connecticut. I guess no one wanted the Sport here - their loss.

Both bikes were stock out of the box...Both Nightsters were the same, including paint. Made for an easy choice for this year, but I sure wish Harley had something more interesting in the way of paint choices for the Glide...neither silver or black would be my first pick, but as I'll probably get it repainted next summer, I guess black is the best choice.

The paint or lack of many choices was part of the reason the Glide went down in price this year. I agree that the basic Glide is a great deal. You get all the right stuff in a B.T. with lots of money left to make her your own. Good luck and ride safe.

When I bought my first Sporty, there was a $1k price difference on the same bike less than 10 miles away. And the dealer with the more expensive ride said he could't budge on the price. JC was right when he said every dealer is different.

Short answer is, the Nightster is a popular and unique model so some dealers will bank on the fact that some folks will want a Nightster and ONLY a Nightster. On the other hand, the Super Glide's selling point IS the price. It's not all that unique. It's essentially a "blank" big twin. If it were more expensive, they wouldn't sell any.

John 1:14

It is the duty of nations, as well as of men, to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins and transgressions, in humble sorrow, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon; and to recognize the sublime truth announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations only are blessed whose God is the LORD.
