Default Speedo Repair

The speedo on my my 1972 FLH works but the trip mile unit fell out! Where the knob stuck out of the speedo is just a hole now. I have no idea where it went, it was there when I left and gone when I got back. I want that speedo fixed and not replaced. I have Googled antique & vintage speedo repairs and emailed a couple of guys (one in Canada) and they have told me they don't work on anything that "new"!?! Anyway, does anyone know of a speedo place that can replace the trip mile unit on a 1972 Harley speedo?

I finally located a Harley Dealer that had the speedo rebuild kit....yahoo!!! My advice to those looking for out-of-stock H-D parts is to call older dealerships, a lot of times they have an inventory of older discontinued parts.

I gotta tell ya. I was a little apprehensive about clicking on a post entitled "Speedo repair" posted in "Services". I was a little scared there were gonna be pictures.
What a relief when I found out it was about a speedometer.
