Hello All,
Found the Forum when i was looking for stuff on baggers. I know the AIM magazine but it is not for sale much in the Netherlands. Used to buy it from the shelf. Maybe i should take a subscription.
To introduce myself i am a 49 year SHE-advisor in the Netherlands. I own a 1984 FLHTC Electra Glide (Evo and chain rear drive). Bought it in 2002, it was imported to the Netherlands in 1989 from the States. Replaced the clutch and later the engine with a S&S 96. It is a great ride.
In my twenties i drove a Kawa Z1000 but always wanted a HD Electra Glide.
Maybe the missus allows me to get a FLH for around town.
Hope to be back often for advice and some small talk.
See ya.
Thanks to all for the welcome.
Hope forgiveness is available for incorrect postings will be forth coming. Think I ride better than understanding web sites. Suppose that comes from more experience.
Looking forward to more of the humor such as the Zepplin comment in the dazed and confused.
Cheers!
Hey all,Home new haven ct area,Love to get out there and ride the new england roads.I do a lot of riding in ct.Its a time thing.I ride a 2001 super glide with a 124inch zippers built muscle motor.I dont ride like a mad man Im a little cautious around heavy auto traffic but I regularly put my scoot through the paces.I took the thunder alley race school in maryland, the launch it hard bug bit me Thanks buzz and company And Mora god rest. That gave me a coupon for a good bit of change off my harley build.Zippers does good work 13,000 miles on the stroker motor and still going strong.Last dyno with robs was 133hp/145tq.Yes its a blast but tires ouch!! Well I love to chat about riding and anything about bikes. It would be good to meet new riders in my area.Buzz I met u at the track that day I was taking the thunder alley race course.U were a nice guy to chat with I didnt know u were such a big shot! LOL.
Hi everybody, from lake hughes,ca.This is a very helpful website.I bought my first harley at 26 yrs old.1970 electraglide, owned it for 18 yrs.Regressed to 58 pan, revamped with shovelheads and 88 " S&S stroker kit, have owned it for the past eight years.Last sunday bought a 03 roadglide with only 3400 miles on it.My "grannyglide"Impressed with smooth ride,no kick starter?that was the modification to my electraglide 27 yrs ago.The grannyglide came with a big fat seat designed to go with a tourpac.Im too tall for the cramped setup.Called old road harley about badlander seat, they had one.Took the "couch" off the granny and put folded up leather vest over the battery for the ride down there.Finaaly it felt like I was on a harley!Told the dealer I didnt need the seat because the new bike rode so good, bought it anyway, big improvement.I have put 600 miles on since sunday with no problems, whats up with that?Havent felt yuppy enough to turn on the radio yet. But,thank God for the yuppies or there wouldnt be 03 baggers out there with 3400 miles on them.I feel a little nervous about breakin down with the grannyglide,27 years of experience at makin it home is out the window with fuel injection and all the gadgets.I love the new bike but kinda miss the "I could die at any given moment!" feeling I get when ridin the 58.anyway ,thats where Im at.Have a good one everybody. d6
