Default Quiet guy slinks in to say hello

Hey all,
Boris here. I've had bikes since I was 13 years old. Current baby is a 73 Sportster. I travel a lot so I don't get to ride her as much as I'd like. I probably won't post much as I am generally a quite sort though I will do a lot of lurking.
I posted a pic of some young machinists in Bangladesh that specialized in motorcycles. As I walked up them they were forging a piston from scratch. Really rustic hand pump forge built into the ground. I watched from start to finish and was really impressed. I went back to my hotel and got all the motorcycle magazines I had and they were so excited to get them. Now American Iron Magazine posters are covering their walls and they have something to strive for and drool over. I'm hoping they have a chopper built for me by the time I get back.
I also put up a few pics of my baby.

Peace,
Boris

Thanks so much for jumping in here Boris. That's a very interesting antecdote about the mechanics in Bangladesh, it's amazing how resourceful people can be.
I'm so accustomed to having the luxury of being able to order what I need, it would be very interesting to see their process.
Visit us more often, we'd love to hear more stories of your travels.
Ride safe and God bless. Sincerely: Shovelmike.

Just shows you how much you need to ride. Seems pretty simple to call up and order parts. I don't think I'd know where to start to try to forge my own pistons.

Good to hear from you Boris!

That's funny, we order those trillion dollar high pro pistons and I bet they're made by that same guy pouring hot steel in a hole in the ground!
