Talking Yo from Toronto

Hey Harley riders. I am not yet a proud H-D owner, chimed in here to learn more about the bikes you ride so I can pick the right one for me to ride. I am a long-time rider, licensed in 1970, and have owned Hondas and Yamahas mostly. I fell in love with Harleys a long time ago but serious now about getting one. Looking at Electra Glides and Road Kings and have an EGC rental for May lined up. Prices have been rising here in Canada since the Cdn $ sunk against the greenback (price of oil is a b**ch). A black '09 Ultra in the showroom in Feb that was listed at $23,119 is now $26,690. To the Moco's credit, they drop their Cdn prices when the buck rises, so c'est la vie. I should be ready by August to plunk down either the coin for an '09, or worst-case scenario, order a '10 for Spring delivery. I am riding a 2004 V-Star 1100 at the moment which I do love, but am anxious to get aboard a Hog. So is my brother, who has first dibs on my metric!

Hope to learn here and look forward to your expert advice.

Shiny side up, my two-wheeled brothers and sisters, and thanks in advance.

-Caper

Welcome Caper from down the QEW in Hamilton. I read your posts in the regional section, maybe I'll see you at a show. I see you were licensed in 1970, same as me. I wrote on my 16th birthday and did my road test 2 days later. I had already purchased a brand new Triumph Tiger 100 that year.

Good luck on your Harley purchase, until then the V-Star is a cool bike as well. My wife rides one.

Hey to Canada. Welcome to the forum. I think you can find someone on here that rides each of the bikes that HD makes. Each one for his own reasons. These reasons are as different as the many models ridden. I think you will find a reason to select the one for you. Take your time and consider what type of riding you will do the most.

Yo Tommy ... Yes Black Pearl is the color of my bike, but how'd you know that I played golf?

Caper ... See what I mean about good natured ribbing? That crazy Canuck is always trying to bust my chops.
