Default Michigan Patriot (new member)

Hi everyone.

Mike from St. Clair Shores, Michigan

New member, but "relatively" old rider. 42 now, and began riding dirt at 7 years old; street at 19 years.

Last week, I just lost my best friend, my riding partner - my Dad. He was 73 and was still riding. He just bought a 2009 sportster 1200 custom last November. It'll be parked in the "man cave" (as my wife calls it) next to my 2009 Super Glide. No plans on ever selling it.

Anyway, glad to be here. Safe riding to all!

Mike

Welcome Michigan Patriot. We need all the patriots we can get these days, I say that in utmost seriousness.
So sorry to hear that your father passed away. I only got to ride with my father a few years before he passed at the age of 50 back in 1973. Carry on, sometimes on a great ride it feels like he's right beside me.
Ride safe and GOD bless, Sincerely: Shovelmike.

Welcome to the Harley forum family and glad you found us. It's OK to share this place with your riding buddies as the more the better.

Sorry to hear about your father.

John 1:14

It is the duty of nations, as well as of men, to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins and transgressions, in humble sorrow, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon; and to recognize the sublime truth announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations only are blessed whose God is the LORD.

Welcome MP, sorry about your Dad.
Now, about being "old" at 42, another upstanding forum member from Michigan will soon be chastising you about that remark, and rightly so.

Sorry,Tommy...I could have sworn you were taking a shot at my age or something as usual...conditioned reflex !?!

Yo, M.P...sorry, but I must make amends with Tommy by chastising you (and rightly so) for referring to 42 as "old" so one more crack like that and you take Tommy's place in the barrel

Thanks everyone for your kind words. Dad's being gone is still mighty fresh, so Thank You all for understanding that I have to talk about it a little.

As for my age comment, I meant that of my 42 years, I've been on some kind of 2-wheeled motorized vehicle (dirt and/or street with a clutch and gears) for 35 of those years.
