Default new sportster man

Hi, my name is Dan. I've been riding bikes since 1968 when I started out with a Honda 175 Scrambler. Moved up to two Yamaha 350s. Now I have my first Harley a 2005 sportster that I have put about 10,000 miles on. I live in Vegas so I ride year round. Have been monitoring various threads and thought it was about time to join as I know I'll have lots of questions about my bike.

Welcome to the forum, Granpadac. I got my start on two wheels in 68 as well. I spent some time on 160-175 Hondas, 305 Superhawk (very fast for its size and was a really nice bike at some point..badly flogged by the time I got it.) I rode a few short rides on friends RD 350 Yamahas and.....this is probably blasphemy to enthuse about here...they were great fun to pop wheelies on when they hit the power band, so much fun I'm sure I would have jeopardized my drivers license in short order.

Welcome aboard,Dan...I did'nt get my own bike 'til late '69 while stationed at Ft.Polk before getting out in early '70...but started with a 650 Triumph...and learned how to ride (or should I say how not to ride) by bouncing off 1/2 the pine trees in southwestern Louisiana

Plenty of good guys here...with lots of INFO & HUMOR to share...glad to have you join us.

Welcome aboard from california.

I got a late start on bikes in 1980. seems like I did ride a dirt bike or two in 1977-79, but my first bike was a Honda 350.....

I forgot to mention my 75 honda 750. It's a wonder that one didn't kill me. Yeah, shovelmike those 350s could wheelie. I wheelied across a catle gaurd one time and landed in some soft sand. Tipped the bike over on my leg. The hot fins makes a nice tattoo.
