Default Hello from CT

Hello from SW CT. After lurking here for a while, Buzz's "Almost Crashed...." post got me to register.

My story..... Always wanted a motorcycle but just never got one because there were always other priorities. For the last few years when me and my wife were in the car and we would see riders go by, there were always comments between us of "boy does that look like fun" and "I've always wanted to do that". Now at the time, January 2008, I was 6'0 and 245 and my wife was always bugging me about losing weight. Ok honey, how about a deal, if I lose weight, I get a Harley? Deal? Deal! Well I lost 65 pounds (it's all about diet and exercise, the magic formula is calories in minus calories out)... and now its time for me to get a bike. 44 years old and had never ridden a motorcycle in my life. Took the MSF course and got my M endorsement. Ended up buying a 2001 Softail Deuce that had 1,500 miles on it from a Stamford, CT cop that just didn't ride it much. Well the Deuce now has almost 7,000 miles on it and I've loved every minute of it.... and wish I could ride more..... the office desk I drive from 9-5 tends to get in the way.

So Buzz, if you or any of your cronies at AIM see a guy on a Deuce with a 10-year-old on the back, pull in to the DQ across the street from your office, come over and say Hi..... maybe I'll even buy you a cone.

Welcome to the American Iron Harley forum family and congrats on your Duece - a great looking Harley! I appreciate the offer on the DQ across the street from the office, but I have to ask if your wife pulls the Harley back if you overdo the ice cream thing Seriously thanks and have fun with that bike.

Hi Spencer, I mean Recneps, Welcome from California!!!!

When I rode a desk for work, rode the bike to and from work... year round! It sure was good. Now I drive a work truck, I cant carry all the tools, welder etc on the bike.

Have fun and come by here often and post a picture or two when ya get a chance.

Welcome recneps. One thing I've found about this site is they treat "Newbies" really good.

Recneps- Crashing made me unable to post for about a month. No more lurking ya bunch of chickens peeking around the hen house. No coyotes in the yard.........Well I take that back. Just a few but their howl is worse than the bite.

Welcome to the jungle.............Enjoy and ride before the snow builds up on the roads.........
