Now with winter coming on in the great midwest, I'm kinda sorry I haven't been able to ride more. |

Since I'm just re-starting at 66, that gives you a LOT of reason to NEVER quit.
I'd imagine your riding season is even shorter than mine, bummer! |

Hang in there, I regret ever stopping in the first place.

I thought being off for 15 or so years was long. I agree with others that you getting back in at 66 is good news for us youngsters (Won't be 50 til April). Sorry you live in one of the Cold states. We ride yr round here in AZ.
Welcome
Cowboy

Cowboy | Thanks sarge. Yeah, Vietnam 65-66 as a doorgunner. Before that, 13 months in Korea (with the 1st Cav) as a tank gunner near the DMZ and a 9 month tour at Ft. Hood. TX in the 1st Armored Division. What's your history?
I would like to live in a warmer area for more riding but with 7 grandkids in our general area, that will never happen. |

| | Re: A New Old Guy says Hello from Illinois Congrats on getting back in the saddle. I went away for 5 years and every moment of those 5 years I missed riding. And I decided that I would settle for nothing less than a Harley if I ever could afford to ride again. Sportsters these days are pretty cool. And they are fast fast fast... Be careful and take your time getting used to riding. If you have gone away for so long, it is almost like you never rode in the first place. I know this from personal experience. My confidence is much lower than it was after getting back on a bike. But it is coming back. Even though I have been riding since 1974 I take a rider's course every couple of years. I am considering the Top Gun course so I can really learn how to safely handle my EGC.
Best of luck
